MAHAHAUAL
Mahahual Mahahual is in the heart of the area known as Costa Maya, 350 km south of Cancun and 130 km north of Chetumal. A little paradise surrounded by nature and the typical colors of the Caribbean. A happening place where you can feel deep-rooted Mayan culture and gastronomy. A place full of options for adventure or relaxation. In the last couple of year this quite village has grown to become the main center of the region. A reference point of the town is definitely the lighthouse and the small naval base beside him.

Costa Maya Pier North of the lighthouse we find the Costa Maya peer, which receives more than a million visitors per year, who come on spectacular cruise ships. Most of these are coming in weekdays mainly in winter months.

Mahahual Village South of the lighthouse is the most interesting part of Mahahual. There are numerous shops with local craftsmanship, restaurants, bars and small hotels like Posada Pachamama. When the cruise ships come, the town is flooded with people. In this area we find the main beach, which thanks to the proximity of coral reef, looks like a natural pool with incredible blue and turquoise colors. Near, there are various superb dive spots.

Costa Maya Nature The place is enchanting and seems to be light years away from the big tourist centers of the Riviera Maya. This may well be the reason why it is attracting so many people from Chetumal, Merida, the Yucatan peninsula along with numerous american and european tourists.
